Oscar in the ruins
Worked from home and then walked into town to see an open air production of the Importance of Being Ernest in the Abbey ruins. It was a mild and still night and the walls of the Abbey ruins seemed to radiate heat later in the evening. The bats were whizzing round in the second half. Caught up with a former colleague who was sitting a few rows further forward.
It seemed quite poignant to be watching Oscar's play with Reading Gaol as a backdrop. The play closed early when it was first staged because of the scandal and the actions of Lord Queensbury.
