NOT THE TOWER OF LONDON

It is the Clock Tower of Grange but doesn't have quite the same ring to it - pun intended.  It is a prominent landmark in Grange located on the junction of Main Street and Church Hill. It was provided by Sophia Deardon, a local benefactor, who presented it to the community on the 4th of December 1912.  The Clock Tower replaced an earlier construction, which was removed when St Paul's Church was extended. It is right next door to it and this photo was taken from St Paul.  It is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England.

What a dreich morning it was.  Tipping it down with rain when left home at 10.00 this morning.  I was going to walk around to get some photos but instead I left hubby to go to the Post Office and the Co-op and went straight into Thyme Out for coffee and a chat - it was just too wet to do anything else.

It had started to brighten up a little by the time we left so I took this photo on our way back to the car.  It's really the only photo I've taken today I'm afraid.

Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
