Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Middletown day 2

We slept well and woke to a coolish day (75°). Over breakfast in the garden I again enjoyed the birdlife - the bluejay was back with a friend, the cardinal, a nuthatch, cat birds and excitingly, a humming bird which hovered up and down outside the kitchen window for ages, just 12 inches away from us. No good photo of course!
We also saw a wood chuck (otherwise known as a groundhog), several squirrels and some chipmunks. I could watch them all for hours.
This afternoon we went out to Essex, so many English place names, this one is just next door to Chester! We went on an evening richer cruise and added bald eagles, cormorants, ospreys, egrets and Canada geese to our tally. We didn't get a glorious sunset as it was cloudy, but the cooler day was very welcome.
My blip today is of our friends kitchen table. It's beautiful. Circular with four round backed chairs which fit under it.
