Sheep Wrangling
I had a relaxed start to the day and then pottered in the sunshine in the garden doing some dead heading; put out a washing load and processed the last of the blackcurrants. We watched Tom Pidcock have an astonishing ride in the mountain biking at the Olympics. Despite falling behind by 40 seconds when he had a puncture, he pulled back to the front and then took the French rider in the very last section of the race to claim the gold, so exciting.
The Hobblers didn't feel like running in the heat of the day so three of us met up in the cooler evening and took a walk across the Moor. On the way back to the village we passed through a small flock of very friendly sheep and WilsdenWalker spotted that this particularly woolly one had brambles and nettles wrapped around its neck in its fleece, preventing it from moving. R and I gave expert commentary and suggestions from the other side of the gate whilst S braved stings to release the sheep. Here she is encouraging the sheep to move after clearing it of its trappings.
After that encounter it was only right that we retired to The Fleece for a jar.
