Flower Power: This One's for the Hero Nerds!!!!!

I hope you've been watching the Olympics, as you are able. It's amazing, isn't it, to see the things that people can do, with their bodies, with their intellect, with their focus, with their strength. I watched with joy as Simone Biles came back for this Olympics, super-focused, strong, and confident, and led her team to Olympic GOLD. Go, team U.S.A.!

But another story that really captured my imagination - and that of millions of others - is the tale of Stephen Nedoroscik, a Penn State engineering nerd who loves math, who took the U.S. men's gymnastics team to its first medal in 16 years! Don't you just love watching someone's dreams come true?

Maybe you've seen the videos already, of Stephen sitting there, waiting, napping on occasion, with his glasses on, looking ultra-nerdy and sciency. And then suddenly, he takes his glasses off, climbs up on that pommel horse, and Clark Kent turns into SUPERMAN!!! OMG, can you believe it!!!! Did you see that perfect dismount? A total WIN for nerd-heroes everywhere!

By the way, this is a photo of a daisy and a chicory bloom on Tow Hill. A celebration of teamwork, right? Also, blue and white are Penn State's colors. :-)

The video, a must-watch: Stephen Nedoroscik's amazing pommel horse routine. (For once, READ ALL THE COMMENTS!!!)

I have to have a soundtrack song, of course, and here's what I've picked: Heroes, first by the Wallflowers, and second by David Bowie.
