Clear air and bright sun
filled our valleys this morning.
BUT...the heat's coming!

It was a refreshing 15 C as I headed off to Tranquille at 5:30. The air hasn't been this clear (without smoke) since spring. The sun was just coming into the valley lighting up the south shore.
I took the drive along the base of the hill I live on, always in hopes of finding big horn sheep. Today was my lucky day! Ten handsome bad boys were strung along the side of the road near its end.
I startled the first one I met. He galloped along the road heading west. I followed slowly behind hoping not to cause any accidents. When he caught up with his band, he slowed again and started to graze.
I caught a few shots of this little herd before they climbed back up the hillside. Sometimes I surprise myself with what shots I can get through my car window.
I drove on to the wetlands pond location. I was delighted with the light this morning. I looked south to the Canadian Pacific Railway line on the other side of the river. I caught the farm backlit with sun. I looked east to get just the tops of my mountains behind the pond.
I stopped under a tree to look up at the osprey nest. It was a busy place this morning. One flew out and came back with something dangling from its talons. I wondered if they continue to rebuild/repair the nest. There was a great deal of conversation from them today. I'd love to know what they were talking about.
I was back home with my breakfast just after 6:30. I have a couple of errands to run this morning before it heats up. Our handyman should be arriving to work for the day. It won't be a quiet day.
