I never know what
I may find when I'm out in
the early morning

I arrived in Riverside Park in time to catch the 6 AM news on the radio. I parked by Heritage House then walked directly down to the end of the pier.
i found a child's sock on the ground that didn't make it home from the playground. A cheeky squirrel came out of a tree to taunt me. I could only catch it in silhouette. A fellow with orange shoes passed me. He was taking photos with his cell phone. We greeted each other and commented on the beautiful morning.
I stopped at the end of the pier to see a man coming out of the river. He'd been having a morning dip. I got a panorama of the confluence looking north. I looked west to the city to see the sunshine moving into the valley. I caught the first rays over my mountains as a lovely mama duck swam towards me in the first sunshine.
I picked up breakfast at the drive-thru, then headed for home.
My daughter and I are tied up with office duties this afternoon. It's going to be a hot day, so I'm not looking forward to it at all. Maybe I can squeeze in a nap before lunch.
