Works

I woke up around 3 am - assumed at first that my bladder was responsible but then realised that I could hear a sound outside. Sounded like an immense downpour which seemed unlikely, so got up to have a look. It was indeed raining but only gently - the whirring sound seemed to be coming from a generator or suchlike and it was evidently being used by the power guys as the lights around the square were all out. Realised that our power was off too. Tried calling the 150 number - after a series of interactions with a very stupid bot I got a nice human voice. Just after I'd given her the postcode and she'd said yes, the engineers were working on it, all the lights came back on. I suggested that she had magical powers which amused her greatly. Got back to sleep eventually but then D's alarm went off just before 6 am, so I felt extremely befuddled. They were still working on it in the morning (1st extra).

Eventually went up the allotment. Buses on diversion due to some crane mullarkey in Restalrig Road ( 2nd extra) - not amused. Did a fair amount of digging and stuff.The new spudger kids seem just to have discovered the feeders (D put stuff out yesterday after a week's absence). The racket was immense.

Then had to go up to Leith Arches, supposedly for tech discussion re Free Fringe shows. No techies in evidence, so just had a chat with a couple of other performers. It'll probably ....be fine.
