Mad Esper: The Word Warrior
On This Day In History
1876: Wild Bill Hickok is murdered
Quote Of The Day
"There has been two awful fights in town this week. You don't know anything about such fighting at home as I speak of; this is no place for women and children, yet, although they all say it is so quiet here ..... if a man fights in Kansas and gets whipped, he never says anything more about it. If he does, he will get whipped for his trouble."
(Wild Bill Hickok)
Back to the cinema again this morning to watch one of my favourite films; Mad Max. I've watched it many times on DVD, but the last time I saw it at the cinema was when it was released on a double bill with Mad Max 2. I was naughty and saw those two X-rated films when I was sixteen years old in 1983. Absolutely phenomenal film; for all his personal faults, Mel Gibson is one of the most intense actors ever. When he flips into full-on vigilante mode, the film accelerates into the high octane gear that will be sustained in Mad Max 2 (to be shown in two weeks time.)
In the afternoon, to escape the heat of the afternoon, which reached 38°C or 100.4°F, I read my book under this tree at Naruohama, another favourite reading spot of mine. The world may not be perfect, but at least it's not as bad as we envisioned it in 1979; at least I wasn't raped or murdered by rampaging psychopaths on motorbikes.
