Flaming Tattoo
A full day. Out with our Belgian friends into town for shopping, lunch then on to Holyrood Palace. Very impressed at the multi- media tour guide: a very interesting visit. Home then off to the Tattoo where the Lord Orovost was taking the salute. I’m not stalking him: honest.
A great riot of couloir, splits, skills, flaming bagpipes (a first for me) and entertainment. See extras. Much less of the traditional sections and perhaps fewer moments of audience engagement. Everyone seemed very much to enjoy the show and there were still plenty of special moments where the massed pipes and drums parade. A very enjoyable spectacle which our visitors really enjoyed. While the forecast rain arrived ahead of the start, the vast bulk of the evening was dry. Result!
