NothingGetsLost

By NothingGetsLost

Amazingly we had the Tummel to ourselves today!
Given the lack of natural flow anywhere else, the sunshine and no other dam releases on seemed like a minor miracle!
Lovely relaxed run down, clean lines all round and free snacks from the raft crew at the bottom.

Extra, the Clunie memorial arch. Built as a memorial to the men who died while working on a hydro pipe (6.9m across) in the 1940s. The definition of freak accident! A lightning strike detonated the explosives they were using before they'd moved away.
The whole Tummel system is an amazing bit of history. The start of hydro-electric power in Scotland.
