Moffat Chase Hill Race

Today's the day ......................... to run

This was the start of the Hill Race in the small town of Moffat in the Scottish Borders, at midday this morning.

The race takes in the summits of Hind Hill, Greygill Head, Hartfell, Saddle Yoke, Nether Coomb Craig and Auldton Fell before returning to Greygill Head and Hind Hill. The entry fee is £20 with all profits going to Moffat Mountain Rescue Team.

We just happened to be in Moffat when they all set off - and there seemed to be hundreds of entrants.  They all looked fit as fiddles and I'm sure they were all experienced fell runners.  We, on the other hand, were very happy to watch them go - and to wish them well on that strenuous route .................!
