Quiet morning at RSPB Middleton Lakes

I went for the butterflies. It’s one of my venues annually for the Big Butterfly Count. I saw none at all. Not even a Speckled Wood and there are usually lots, as well as the other regulars. Whatever is happening ?

It was quiet for birds too. Merlin heard various things, predominantly the Goldcrests but they didn’t put in an appearance. 

I sat quietly in one of my favourite spots. I don’t think the Nuthatch saw me. He kept coming back to the bird foood on the stump.  Thank you for my blip, little feathered friend.
