another bumper crop

I've made a few small batches of crab apple butter over the years from this tree, but it is a messy job with such small apples.
At this point the fruit is too sour to harvest, yet the birds and squirrels are having a feast, and the ground underneath the tree is strewn with their debris.
Despite all the mess, I do enjoy seeing a tree so full of fruit.
