Blue Jay

I got out for a morning walk as it was still a bit cooler to be out. The park was quiet – not many birds or people. People are likely avoiding the heat. The birds, however, have about finished caring for their young ones and now it’s moulting season. Having to regrow their feathers, some birds can look kind of ugly with missing feathers and tend be quieter, not flying as much. This blue jay, however, still looks nice and was looking for a peanut. I brought my hand with a peanut quite close, but he would not come. But when I placed a peanut on a sign post and it was quickly grabbed.
