Where to begin?

After church I was at the nearby shopping centre and saw a van advertising a service I didn’t know I might need - and hope I never do. Fuel fixer: wrong fuel rescue. The fact that enough people mix up petrol and diesel to be able to set up a company surprises me. But it shows enterprise.

An afternoon visit from friends for a catch up. Then dinner. Then out into the rain for the final day (of 3) of the opening event of the Edinburgh Festival. Another friend attended the first night and wrote more fully about the event. You can read about it here. https://www.edinburghmusicreview.com/reviews/5y6cdescyt381msznlpj2qou5fsncz

I was less worried about the ladder and flame sequence, partly because I had to frequently wipe the lens to get rid of the raindrops! I do agree however that the light show was very impressive and our son and I really enjoyed the event despite the rain! A wonderful mix of word and music with the narrative heavily laden with Scots words. Great fun. The effect of the rain on the laser beams created a spackling effect which my photo strives to convey.

The event took place at George Heriot’s school - a rival establishment to where I was educated. I confess to a slight frisson of fun watching the light show projection displaying the buildings collapsing at one point. I do accept that it made for a magnificent backdrop and setting for the event.
