Sunday: Central Station
Today is one of the those days where taking a daily photo, and the concept of Blip, is so interesting to me. This is Central Station in Newcastle this morning, just as we started our journey, yet I’m now writing this up in Atlanta, where we are overnighting en route back to Belize.
I was slightly apprehensive about today’s train journey, given our experience on the way up, and the fact that we had a flight to catch, but everything went very smoothly. We were in London just after 11am and all checked in for our flight shortly after midday.
The flight to Atlanta was long but uneventful. We’ve found that all our recent flights insist on blinds being lowered for the duration. I can understand it on overnight flights but I think it’s really unnecessary, and somewhat disorientating, on daytime flights. It’s very odd spending the day in a dark tube.
As usual, we have to overnight in the US. Some airport hotels are a bit hit and miss. This one is more miss than hit, but it will do as somewhere to lay our heads.
