Future Islands

Up early to catch the bus to Glasgow. A tasty breakfast in Charlie’s before getting on the bus for the almost 4 hour journey ahead.A good journey with no hold ups and we did not go through Perth so a quicker journey. Lovely views in the sunshine.
After a quick visit to the loos at the Bus station we caught another bus to Kelvingrove. Looked for somewhere to eat and ended up in the cafe at Kelvingrove museum. We both had a very good meal of venison sausages , mash , roasted veg and onion gravy. We even managed to fit in pudding , rhubarb sponge crumble with creamy custard.
We had a walk in the park. I wanted to find the Border walk which was at the other end of the park. Last time we were there it was full of lovely flowers but it’s been neglected so nettles and Rosebay willowherb have taken over. There were still a few bees and butterflies.
Time to check in to our Guest House, The Argyll. We had a room at the back which was nice and quiet but hot so we managed to open the window wide to let some air in. Had a rest and watched some of the Olympics.
We joined the queue to get into the Summer Sessions at the Bandstand. It’s celebrating it’s 100th birthday this year. Found the area we wanted to sit and settled down for an evening of music.
First up was a girl called Joon. Different but good and the crowd seemed to like her too.
Richard and Janne came along too finding a great spot right at the front.
Next up were Future Islands . Really good. The lead singer, Sam, has soo much energy and it’s fun to watch him moving on the stage. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lKkjK4ZIQes
We just had a short walk back to our Guest house thank goodness as my legs were aching so much. A cup of tea before bed
