Camouflage

9 pm on Monday ... no photos taken in two days. "I'll just take this letter to post -- maybe I'll see something on the way." Bingo! After the furnace-like heat of the afternoon, the four cats who live in the little alleyway across the square from us had all come out seeking somewhere cool -- not sure they found it lying on hot concrete. This boy is well camouflaged in the general colour scheme. It will do! (I have to get my cat fix where I can now)

S got back mid-afternoon yesterday exhausted after his six-day jaunt in the Pyrenees. We had bacon sandwiches for dinner -- every meal has to involve bread now, although I did give two large loaves away.

Brioche for breakfast this morning, then I went for a quick swim before heading to the book swap in Tourouzelle to get rid of two large bags of books. I only picked up two in exchange -- result! There are now gaps on the bookshelves to be filled. I did some shopping on the way home; lunch was -- surprise -- sausage sandwiches. And dinner was bread and cheese; both of us had done cheese shopping before returning home.

Meanwhile I also translated cake recipes into French for my fellow bakers -- they all loved the ginger spice cake, and liked the carrot cake almost as much; I returned home with two empty tins. So they may end up featuring on the menu of a bakery in Brittany :)
