A and I enjoyed the Bayfield walk in the pretty Glaven Valley this morning. The weather was warm and sunny and we stopped at the Natural Surroundings Cafe for a welcome cup of coffee in their beautiful garden.
I couldn’t resist popping into the wooden hut to have a look at the harvest mice which they breed to keep the local owls happy. The photo was taken through glass and in poor light. I wanted to test the camera on my new phone. I’m reasonably pleased with the result.
I’m pleased to hear that the Environment Agency are about to spend £70,000 on improving the Glaven River in this area. They plan to add more ‘meandering’ into the river which will help improve the flood plain and increase biodiversity.
