Time To Go
Not a great day for photgraphy. Grey and cloudy, warm and windy.
And I have been busy in the garden, hedge trimming and weeding.
It never ends!
A bit of excitement around the House Martin nest. The young ones have had their first taste of freedom and I don't know if they liked it much.
They flew around and got shouts of encouragement from mum and dad.
But two flew straight back in and demanded to be fed as a reward.
There were three. I do not know what has happened to the other one. My theory is that he was the loudest and fattest and has flown the nest. The remaining two presumably need more time.
Here the adult birds are clinging to the wall below the nest, I believe encouraging the youngsters to try again.
It has been fascinating and a little bit wearing, observing all the activity. But I will be glad when they have gone and no longer need to worry for them.
Until next year.
