A tiny flower arrangement…

… taken through the window of the Community Cafe. There are definitely leaves among the flowers.
Yesterday turned out to be really stressful. I’m not sure why but by lunchtime I was getting really stressed and decided to leave my new iPad firmly in the box for another day. But I just couldn’t resist and had to get it set up. Big mistake! It all started because it tried to sync it to my iPad Pro and it refused to recognise it. So I started to connect to the internet but it simply couldn’t connect because it said incorrect password. The more I double checked the password and tried again the more stressed I got! I eventually phoned the phone Co for help. The person I spoke to obviously realised I was stressed and was so patient. He suggested turning off the WiFi and turning it back on again. On a normal day I’d know that technical solution but yesterday I couldn’t even find the right button to turn it off! Eventually the guy and I agreed he’d run out of ideas and said I could book a home visit for help. I decided to put the pesky iPad back in the box and forget about it.
Then I found the on/off switch on the router and switched the WiFi off. My stress hit record high when what felt like an hour later I still had a row of red lights (in truth probably 3 minutes!) so once the WiFi came back on I just spent the rest of the evening slowly simmering.
This morning I plucked up the courage to try again. It picked up my iPhone immediately and not only synced with it but signed into my WiFi. So the technical switch off/on worked! All I have to do now is sign into some apps that don’t automatically sign in.

This morning I was expecting a guy to come and replace my 10 year old smoke detectors which have expired. My landlord said he’d be here a couple of hours so I planned to go into town for a blip and a few bits and pieces and leave the engineer a key so he could lock up and post the key through the door if I wasn’t back before he finished. He really laughed because it was a simple matter of plug out each old sensor and plug in new. He was in the house about 5 minutes in total to replace both sensors! My landlord may be less amused if he realises he could very easily have done it himself!

I’d hoped today would be free of stress but while I was moving stuff out of the way so the engineer could get to the electricity board (which he didn’t need to do) I twanged my back and that is still giving me gyp!
I got my blip and treated myself to a decaf iced latte and I thought the day was going really well… the I walked past Bao Asian Cafe! Because I’m trying really hard to eat more I decided that a vegetable Pad Thai from Bao was a good way to get a sensible meal that I fancied. I usually eat at the Community cafe 4 times a week so a couple of days of Pad Thai each week would be ideal. As I walked past I saw a new sign “Closed for August”. The best laid plans and all that…
