curns' corner

Fridays are usually quieter, but today, there were quite a few meetings, and I'd blocked off some time to prepare a presentation for Monday. I offered some background and 'domain knowledge' to the engineers who have joined the team, and I'd like some slides rather than just talking. In the end, I worked on it until after 7pm.

After work, we decided to go for a walk. It's not rained much in the past week (even accounting for yesterday evening’s rain), so we decided a walk around the Cannon Hill Common would be good, just like we used to during the lockdown months. We were right; it was dry underfoot. It was nice and quiet, with only a few dog walkers around. The temperature seemed cooler, and the view across Raynes Park is always nice. I really should get out to see the ducks more often. We saw what we think is a heron on the pond.

Just before we ate, the Sainsbury's delivery driver rang to ask to stop by a little earlier than booked. He arrived after we'd finished eating. We now have an over-filled fridge ready for tomorrow.
