Life is a Challenge!

THE SLUGS WERE OUT IN FORCE…

…but I didn’t think you would want to see a 3 inch long slug on your screen!

So instead, I wandered around the garden, in my pink robe, looking for shots of different flowers that were so grateful for the rain - and hope you like this “stained glass window effect” I have produced with the help of one of my collage apps.

It rained quite heavily in the night and it was a joy to wake up and hear the cars going past;  obviously I could hear from the sound the tyres were making that it was quite wet.

When I first went out into the garden, I saw a lot of big, black, juicy slugs and just missed stepping on one - in fact, I will put it in as an extra, as it was such a juicy one!  I thought about slugs and even though I’m not sure that they have a “real” purpose for their existence, this one might still be happy to have its 15 minutes of fame on Blip today.

There were many others,  but I didn’t feel like collecting them all up, so one will have to do!

I had volunteered to be at the Community Fridge today as Lunch Club, which is usually held on a Tuesday, isn’t on for the month of August, and someone thought it would be a good idea to open the café.  I had some wonderful conversations with several people - what was going on all over the UK being one of the topics of conversation, but also I spoke to a couple who usually come to Lunch Club, but who still came and were happy to have strawberries and cream with their morning coffee.

We didn’t have as many through the door today, so we were able to chat more to people who were there, so there wasn’t such a frenetic feel about the day.  Mr. HCB came to collect me, as he had been to see his brother whose birthday is tomorrow, so it was good for him to see how the Community Fridge works, or rather to see how it is all cleared up afterwards.

I wasn’t as tired today - perhaps I am getting used to doing more - but as Mr. HCB is off to cricket tomorrow, maybe I will do a bit of “domestic goddessing” and remove that cobweb - but after a friend has been for coffee in the morning - just need to make sure she has no reason to go upstairs and sees it!

The weather looks to be set fair for tomorrow, so I’m sure Mr. HCB will have a good time - he tells me it is a “One Day Cup Match” consisting of 50 overs for each team, so he won’t be back until mid evening.

My computer is due to be delivered back to me tomorrow and then I will be ringing Apple to find out how to recover everything from my back-up disk.  Apparently, they have replaced the “logic board”, which in effect, is the whole “gubbins” of the machine - although I doubt Apple will be happy that I have called the inner workings “gubbins”, but I’m sure you know what I mean.  I guess that will be at least another hour of my life that I won’t get back, but it will be good to have my iMac back!

P.S.  I wonder if you can spot the “odd one out” in my collage?
