Tavistock Today

The River Tavy flows though the centre of the bustling market town of Tavistock in West Devon. Today the town had a livestock auction and in the butcher's hall at the Pannier market there was an excellent exhibition by local artists. The building in the background here is the town hall. The Indoor pannier market is located behind this and to the left, but not visible here, are the remains of the abbey. A combination of the commercial, civic and religious that stretches back hundreds of years!
