It's a wrap.....

Another busy day. Once I'd been round my spring calving cows, gathered up a team to run the last field of cows and big calves into the sheds to wean. I've already had one calve while she still had last year's calf with her,not ideal ,so it's past time they were done.
Then next door to sort out wee brothers cows that we PD d yesterday and run the in calf ones to a field. There are some yeld ones that are going to the mart tomorrow. Luckily the ear tags that I ordered yesterday turned up with the postie,so they can go now.
An afternoon spent baleing up the 20 acres of grass I mowed on Saturday. It's been rained on twice, but there was a breeze going so wasn't too wet.
Got my silage contractor to come in with his mobile wrapper to wrap the 195 bales in the field. Usually we cart the bales home then wrap them at the stack ,but didn't have enough folk for carting,so this gets the bales airtight and we can cart them home later ( providing the crows haven't pecked them full of holes )
Had it all baled by 7 pm,back home ,into the land rover and back down the road to feed heifers, then back up the road to collect Littlemiss and check the calving cows. One had calved since this morning,so managed to walk her through to another field without any drama.
Also managed to get the lawn cut tonight, but the dampness was coming down by 9 pm.
Aye, the nights are fairly drawing in.......
