Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!

Edward and I went to the Smithsonian National Zoo today and saw a lot of wonderful animals. Unfortunately, it was VERY hot. Lots of the critters were indoors or hiding in the shade but we did find a few wonderful creatures to photograph including this beautiful Sumatran Tiger! One cool thing at the zoo were mist stations along the pathways which helped cool people down (me, too) along the pathway. Great idea!

Later we went to the Udvar-Hazy Center featuring the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, VA. It was a massive hanger but it was very cool (temperature-wise and exhibits-wise). Lots of antique plans from the earliest days to modern marvels like the Concorde, the SR-71 Blackbird, and the Discovery Space Shuttle. Hundreds of aircraft, spacecraft, and other objects. Edward was in heaven!

Very hot and tired. Off to bed then off to see the Atlantic Ocean tomorrow.
