What a day!

Oh we have had the best day!

It's so long since I have been out on a RHIB and I love anything to do with the sea and the coast, especially wildlife.  It's what attracted me to diving.   This morning we went on a RHIB for a tour around Ramsey Island.  The sea was rough and so we could only explore the east side which was sheltered.  It felt so good to be out on the sea!  The island topography was stunning and we saw many seals on a small beach area.  One in particular was very curious and almost climbed onto the boat at times, we were so lucky!  It felt like heaven being out on that boat after the last 2 years.

After that we had a lovely coffee and then headed to a bug zoo. We had lunch at the cafe which had an unusual menu of bugs or vegetarian options.  I am veggie so didn't eat the bugs but John tried the bug burger.  He enjoyed it.   It is far greener source of protein than meat.

Then we went to a close encounters session and held hissing cockroaches, spiny stick insects and horsehead grasshoppers!  We loved it.  The girls are like me and love creepy crawlies! John enjoyed it too.   Such a quirky and fun place.  The bug zoo is surrounded by beautiful meadows full of wildflowers to encourage biodiversity, such a beautiful place with a lovely eco focus.
