a lifetime burning

Hiding

Today's weather is muggy and windy with occasional showers, so not ideal for wildlife photography.  That said, there was plenty going on in the shrubs at the edges of the garden and I managed to track down one of the recently emerged Common Darters that hadn't gone too far from the pond.  It's the same species as yesterday, and, who knows might even be the same insect.  I opted for a reasonably fast shutter speed, as the wind was blowing the crocosmia flowers around a fair bit and the dragonfly was enduring a but of a rollercoaster ride as a result, moving its wings to adjust its balance.
