This is the day

Juvenile jay

I’ve noticed this jay hopping about in our garden every day for the past week or two. He either sits on a branch of the twisted hazel tree, or on the back of the garden bench beside it, just looking around for a bit and then flying off again.

This morning Smithers and I walked up the road to deliver to our good friends the wedding anniversary card I made for them, which I blipped on Tuesday. Smithers managed to get up the hill without needing to stop for a rest once, so that’s very encouraging because some days he only gets a few yards and needs to catch his breath.
