This little bird
I have spent a dull, damp day at last getting to grips with sorting all the masses of fabrics that have accumulated in my room, over years and years and years. A lot of culling and then organising.
For some reason, as I was moving things, I came across this wooden bird. Quite a puzzle, which I had forgotten how to take apart - it took me a while. Then inside I found these tiny charms that I had forgotten about too. I don't think I ever had a charm bracelet, I think these came from my great aunt - the picture is actually a miniature postcard.
The bird, only 10cm wide, was handmade in India and I must have bought it at some point, a long time ago, from an Oxfam Fair Trade shop. Funny how we have some things that we really like, but they become part of the furniture and we don't notice them. I'm glad I 'found' this little bird again.
Then I had to put it together again (see extra) - not as easy as it looks.
