Go East
Another day out with Rebecca and Ronnie.
This time to the opposite coast and we went to Saltburn.
Weather was good but not the forecast.
After a good journey we found a parking place on the front and was surprised to see it was free.
We did our usual two miles walk out and two miles back along the beach, so enjoyed it.
Then back up from the beach we had our picnic sat on a bench ( see extra) overlooking the sea.
My turn to make it this week. Sandwiches with the crusts cut off , my bread wasn’t as good as what Rebecca used last week. Beetroot, apple, and walnut salad, tabbouleh and a feta, spinach and tomato quiche.
Bakewell or curd tart for afters. I’d also brought scones but we were stuffed!
Saw the dark clouds arriving so packed up and set off home as we passed Boroughbridge we called in to see my brother and his wife, he was delighted to see us. Pleased to see him looking so well despite his ongoing chemo treatment. Told us they have just booked a ballroom dancing holiday in Llandudno next March and he will be playing 13 holes at golf tomorrow, his third game this week.
Says 18 holes is a tad too long these days but l think that’s still pretty good for 93 and he is going dancing twice over the weekend.
A bit of rain on the rest of our journey home but it looked like we had missed the worse.
Another lovely day with my daughter, that’s two trips to different coasts on consecutive Thursdays. We can’t do the coast next week but we can do something with just the two of us as all three granddaughters go to Birmingham tomorrow for ten days dancing with The National Youth Ballet.
Rebecca is driving them there in the morning, they have to be there for 9:30 so it’s a 6:00 am start.
