A Tribute to the Olympics
3-4 weeks ago, the post box topper on the box on Fairway Road changed to a tribute to the Notts air ambulance. Basil and I rode out with Cecily at lunchtime to capture a shot, only to find it had been replaced with a tribute to the Olympics.
I don't know if all the figures were meant to be British medal winners but at the games themselves, I was delighted when athlete Letsile Tobogo won Botswana's first gold Olympic medal by winning the men's 200m. I wonder why competitor Lyles ran after he was diagnosed with Covid two days ago. He will have infected a load of other athletes as well as the medical workers who tended to him.
He looked really ill after the race, collapsing on the track. Moral. Don't mess with Covid.
