Sally Mair - Loving life

Newport

Our last full day in Newport so lots of 'last things' to do! It was raining much of the day and much cooler so we're beginning to get used to lower temperatures.
I managed to pick up t-shirts for the girls in an Old Navy store, it's part of the Gap group so hopefully they'll like them. On the way back, we went into MacDonalds US style. It looked remarkably like a Scottish one to be honest.
Back in the house we made a batch of oatcakes using a combination of steel cut oats and oatmeal. They came out very well. Tomorrow's lesson will be shortbread making by request. I brought a batch of both over as I know they are favourites.
The evening was taken up with Drew's Retiral do, a two hour private cruise around Newport Bay and the neighbouring islands with friends and former colleagues. I've blipped part of the buffet which included lobster rolls. Drew and Lisa also feature, listening to one of the speeches. What a wonderful evening. The sunset was taken just as we got back into port.
What a spectacular last evening for our holiday
