Wattle

In August, Australians are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to Flower Friday but the fire trail out the back of our farm is lined with beautiful Wattle - see extra.
Which brings me to a piece of useless trivia. Now I’m not a great Olympics fan but I will crawl over hot coals to watch the middle distance athletics (800m and 1500m). It is exactly 52 years since one of the most extraordinary performances in Olympic history, the 800m at the Munich games in 1972 which was won by none other than Dave Wottle. Dave’s spelling might not have been traditional but then again, he’s American!
