Build a Bear
It’s Maggie’s sixth birthday today. Instead of a party the family went to Build-a-Bear at Livingston where you get to design and build your own bear/cat. They popped in on the way home to show me. They were super excited.
Thank you all for the lovely comments hearts and stars yesterday for my Purple Tansy. I had to look up why farmers grow whole fields of it. There’s nothing prettier than a big expanse of it, but I was curious as to why.
This is what I found: it’s used as a soil improving green manure. It’s effective at preventing nitrogen leaching and suppressing weeds, due to its fast establishment. It’s dense zone of shallow roots are very good at conditioning the top 3-4cm of soil.
So now we know! Learning all the time - as they say. :-)
