(Two Weddings And) A Funeral

A quick diary blip as it has been a sad day today, the funeral of one of mrfb's very, very best friends, Linda. They met over 50 years ago at college and had kept in regular touch over that time, meeting up occasionally, having regular weekly 2 hour telephone calls, and in more recent years exchanging WhatsApp images and videos of grandchildren. Linda was only diagnosed with motor neurone disease in February this year so it has all been very sudden.

On a happier note we met Linda's three grandsons for the first time, including identical twins D&H. I'm sure they were winding me up as we said goodbye, each one pretending to be the other.

After the service there was a buffet lunch at a local hotel & spa. When we arrived there was a wedding party by the main entrance. A Ghostbusters themed wedding in fact, complete with car (the Ectomobile?) and suitably dressed ghostbuster drivers. I was wondering if I could get a photo but we were ushered on by hotel staff, understandably I guess they didn't want a funeral party mixing with a wedding party.

After the lunch we were walking back to our car and had to walk across a patio laid out for another wedding breakfast. Again a hotel guy came out looking very concerned and asking us to move along as they were expecting the guests any minute. He said it is 'wedding season' now, with at least 3 or 4 events each week.
