A logsend!
Late afternoon, by which time the sun was shining, we met our daughter and grandchildren at Twyford Woods. It's a long time since we've been there. As well as the natural elements you find in woodland, there are also dilapidated runways that are long out of use, but good for cyclists - including a five-year-old with a new unicorn cycle helmet.
The young master was the whiniest I've ever known him - totally owing to frustration as he watched his sister race along on her bike, while he was missing out. He didn't want to go in the pushchair, but walking was too slow. However, when we spotted the pile of treetrunks, his walking suddenly speeded up: at last somewhere both children could play (once we'd checked the huge logs were stable). They had a lovely time.
Pleased to say I spotted lots of butterflies, whites, large and small, gatekeepers and a silver-washed fritillary.
