Forest walking
The last day of our Scottish holiday before we head back to Mum and Dad's tomorrow and the blue sky has mainly prevailed. We headed part way on our homeward journey to Kirroughtree Visitor Centre in the Galloway Forest Park. We walked the Anniversary Cairn Trail with a real mixture of landscape. Bailey started off but had a lie down pretty early on so was taken back to the car to wait with Mum. Once we'd walked we sat out in the sun with an ice cream and then headed to a hide which was visited by a wood pecker, a jay and a nuthatch whilst we were there, amongst lots of tits and chaffinches but sadly no red squirrels.
Back via Crafty (gin) Distillery for spiel, tasting and purchasing before we made our way back to Garlieston. Two more games of Bananagrams as well as some sitting in the conservatory and appreciating the sunshine. And we're rounded off our week with a lovely tea in the Harbour Inn in the village. A walk needed once we'd eaten but Bailey was a bit reluctant to go too far.
