Goodbye to Garlieston

A warm and sunny start to our departure day from Wheel House. Everything cleared, the car packed, a last look at the view and we set off just after nine thirty. A clear run through the very south west of Scotland and onto the motorway. We stopped at Tebay Services along with a whole host of other folk for a car picnic having braved the crowds in the farm shop and then set off to complete the last 30-ish miles back to Mum and Dad's. It's been a good week in a new-to-us location, a varied landscape, book-browsing-and-buying opportunities, friendly people and a lovely view to return back to each day.
