Bow
No.1 had a slow start after yesterday evening but after breakfast/brunch we had a drive up to see No.2 in his new studio. He has made such a good job of the space and is a 'chip off the block' in terms of carpentry and making things. He is currently working on some new pieces for an exhibition later in the year but was a bit 'anxsty' today. Like most artists, it is not an easy journey and I have told him many times he has chosen a difficult path but has been true to himself and not sold out on the alter of £££. He has money in the bank but worries if he is not working/earning at the same time as painting. August is a slow month for art handling........but it will pick up in September and meanwhile he will concentrate on new works for exhibitions. No.1 was quiet and not saying much - most sentences start but don't finish......... heartbreaking to see. However we went for a walk spotting these enterprising front gardens on our way. Growing runner beans, tomatoes and what looked like melon (?) in a tiny space. We did a loop of the canal and then called into see Malcolm quickly for a quick cuddle. Home via Blackwall Tunnel and Friday night traffic but called into Tesco en route for a bottle of Pimms. No.1 enjoyed a glass in the garden watching the sun go down while OH cooked prawn linguine (too much chilli). We watched Wicked little letters on Netflix and enjoyed Olivia Coleman's performance.
Day done.
