Friendly Friday indoors
It was so windy in our shared garden this afternoon that we decamped into the house of a couple of neighbours for much of our 'Friendly Friday' drinks gathering. I haven't been into all the flats nearby, but I bet this is the most stylish. It certainly makes us feel like shabby cellar dwellers!
It was lovely to sit in this room, wine glass in hand, chatting to our friends after a very busy day.
This morning I was at my machine at 5:00, trying to make sense of recent correspondence with the auctioneer. Then I made four gooseberry fools for supper. My last task before breakfast was to ride my exercise bike.
Immediately after breakfast, I hosted a visit from a council worker who came to see Mummy hazelh's living quarters. Then it was time to head to my pilates class.
I ran most of the route back home after the class to ensure that I had time to shower and dress to meet the midday deadline to leave the house and take Mummy hazelh to Dunbar. There we met my not-so-little sister for the 'Pass the Ma-rcel' handover. My sister is taking Mummy hazelh to the house on Holy Island for a short holiday.
On our return to Edinburgh, we put Mummy hazelh's bedding into the washing machine, then popped round to the library to pick up a book that I had reserved. At 16:00 I had a telephone call with the auctioneer (all queries now resolved) followed by another with my middle sister. By the end of all this activity I had about an hour to finish off prep for supper (started yesterday) and bring in the washing (dried in record time thanks to the wind).
Our supper foursome comprised myself and Mr hazelh, and my gym friend Karen and her husband Nick. They joined us for Friendly Friday drinks first. It was a wonderful relaxed evening after a rather frantic day.
Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; pilates class; short run; walking (16,788 steps).
