Mouldings in the Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh
This morning we braved the Festival crowds and forged a way to the Talbot Rice Gallery to visit the El Anatsui exhibition. His vast tapestries constructed from pieces of waste metal held together by nylon are amazing, but it was his wooden sculptures that I liked the best. I was also very taken by the mouldings on the upper floor of the former natural history museum, as blipped.
After a quick lunch at home and the most rapid feat of packing ever, we jumped in the car and drove south to just beyond Biggar for our first weekend stay with Bella and David since January 2023. The rest of the day was spent chatting, eating, petting the dog, drinking fizz, and playing Catan (the first win to me, the second to Mr hazelh). It is wonderful to be here.
Exercise today: walking (9,702 steps).
