Still Rockin'

C-Type

It's been a bit of a dull day. Marian was having coffee with friends so I went off to the Vintage Fayre which is held each year at Ideford, a neighbouring village. I didn't stay long, just a quick walkabout and some photos of the cars. I liked this immaculate C-type Jaguar which is the competition version of the XK120 originally built from 1951to 1953. I wish I'd talked to the owner and found out a bit about it but he was busy talking to people. Since coming home I see that Jaguar have recently started building them again as part of their 'Continuation' programme. There are also a few different replica manufacturers, none of them cheap options.

I've added an extra of beautifully restored Austin-Healey 'Frogeye' Sprite. I used to have on of these back in the day. It had an 948cc Austin A40 engine with twin carbs and as an 18 year old I found it great fun. My second extra is a very smart Oldsmobile 88, a 1953, I think.
