TEESMOUTH
Looking across the Tees estuary towards Redcar and Saltburn from the dunes, which at last had quite a few butterflies on the go. I even spotted a couple of Graylings which I don't remember seeing for a few years. Until the Spring the dunes extended about halfway across the lighter-coloured sand in the photo but this year's storms washed them away very quickly. Now they end in an abrupt sand-cliff just in front of where I stood to blip. They've always been a big nesting site for skylarks, pipits and others, and a huge rabbit warren so I imagine there was a lot of competition for the remaining sites at nesting time.
