Ye Olde Swan - Thames Ditton
This pub originated in the 13C and was once used as a hunting lodge by Henry VIII as it is on the opposite side of the river to Hampton Court. It is actually made up of several houses from different centuries and is now looking good after a refurbishment.
Nearby are several buildings which were previously a renowned foundry..see extras. Many famous statues round the world were made here including the statue on top of Wellington Arch and several statues of Queen Victoria including one in Sydney.
I did a circular cycle ride to include a Thames a Ditton for a change.
A relaxing afternoon watching some of the Olympics.
