Life through the lens...

Surprise

Hot,hot, hot.
Yes the forecast was right. Wall to wall sunshine and up to 29C.

A lazy day. Sat in the garden this morning before it got too hot.
Just enjoying watching the bees, butterflies and other insects flying about from flower to flower. Certainly good to see plenty of butterflies today. ( see extra)
However the surprise was a visit from this dragonfly, which came to rest on the fence.
Never seen one in the garden before.
Someone will be able to tell me what sort it is.
Anyhow it just had to be my Blip for today.

Lunch in the garden and then I went to Oakwell Hall to support friends in the local community choir, who were singing there in the courtyard.
So hot. Fortunately they were undercover.
However they had put the chairs out for the audience in the sunshine.
Very few takers and some of us moved ours into what little shade there was.
It was quiet for a Sunday. The hot weather must have kept people at home.
However I enjoyed it.

Came home and sat in the garden, in the shade, with a book.

We are going to have a bbq tonight which will also be on the patio in the shade.

It is nice and cool in the house. Will probably watch some of the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Hope it is better than the opening one.
I did see Emily Campbell receive her bronze medal. What a great hairstyle!
