silverfish

I was instructed to do some dusting. I didn't get far before I got distracted. This silverfish is quite large, larger than 1cm head to abdomen (excluding antennae and cerci). Using a webservice to identify the beastie I end up with the paper silverfish (Ctenolepisma longicaudatum). They are an invasive species that live in homes. They are considered a pest in libraries and museums as they like to eat paper. So far, I have not found any munched books.

In the afternoon we took the S Bahn to Wannsee and then the ferry to the Peacock Island. Lovely walk in the shade past various royal follies. We also saw a good number of peacocks. A chilled out day before work starts again tomorrow.
