Oscar's Cottage Garden Flowers
This year, Oscar has sown a much larger area of cottage garden flowers to pick, almost as far as the eye can see. We went this afternoon to enjoy a quiet time in the countryside and pick some flowers. Oscar is as enthusiastic as ever. He said his family's farm is so extensive it seemed a shame not to share it with others.
Now there is a café in a container and a very old, battered and threadbare marquee to provide shelter. We wondered if it would survive a torrential downpour. There was a very welcome breeze.
A football net and an 'axe' throwing game have been added to the hay bales for kids to play.
We had a soft drink then went to pick flowers, or rather, Len picked them while I suggested what he should pick.
Basil had the time of his life. He could run free.
