Female Gypsy moth

I saw this moth when l went to Kew Gardens but have not been able to identify it until yesterday because it is not a very common species now a days.  The female gypsy moth cannot/will not fly, she stays basically in the one spot after pupating. 

I watched most of the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics.  They have been a great success 'Chapeau Paris'.
